CONFERENCES

Rainbow SJCCC-horizontal-logo

CAPS strives to continue growing in its understanding of issues of diversity and social justice and their implications on mental health and the students we serve.  Our Social Justice in College Counseling Conference was created to provide mental health providers with a collegial learning environment where they can further their knowledge and understanding of marginalized student populations and their unique mental health needs as well as gain skills that can result in the provision of more culturally competent care and further the field of college mental health.

Texas Supervision Symposium logo

Clinical training is an important part of the culture at Texas A&M CAPS. The Texas Supervision Symposium was created as a space for education, networking, and support related to the clinical supervision of trainees within a university counseling center context. This one-day, annual event offers seminars that are interactive, experiential, and focus on the intersections between clinical training and social justice advocacy. Content focuses on common challenges that occur in clinical supervision and innovative ways of addressing such difficult dynamics.
