Committee Opportunities
Clinical Services Committee (Chair - James Deegear): The purpose of the Clinical Services Committee is to ensure that Texas A&M students receive the most prompt, effective, ethical and appropriate clinical services possible at any given time and within the role and scope of the department. The committee strives to identify a range of researched-informed service delivery methods to offer students as well as create procedures for timely and pragmatic access to those services. This is accomplished through on-going evaluation of the service delivery process and the drafting of recommended service delivery policies and procedures. The committee is chaired by the Clinical Services Coordinator.
Training Committee (Chair - Jason Hindman): The function of the training committee is to coordinate training programs at CAPS including the advanced practicum program and the doctoral internship in health service psychology. This committee takes responsibility for preserving the culture of the training program including values such as multicultural competence, social justice, self-reflection, research integration, and maintaining a supportive atmosphere. This committee manages the intern selection process, organizes intern orientation, and coordinates internship programming. We are currently working on the APA self-study for reaccreditation
Other committees with which you can be involved (less investment):
