Approach to Therapy and Professional Interests
I have been counseling individuals since 2009 and have found that when we dig deeper within ourselves, we often find hidden skills that aide us in coping during challenging times. My job is to provide a space for that examination of self and to help guide you on your journey. I practice from a Brief therapy approach, which means I am present during our time together and assist you in discovering your strengths and resources. My professional interests include working with individuals experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, conflict resolution, relationship struggles, and hopelessness.
Personal Statement on Diversity and Social Justice
Our world could start healing if we embraced our differences but also recognized our similarities. While acknowledging our own cultural values, norms and expectations, we can begin collaboratively working with others, to support these unique connections. As a counselor my job is to listen and learn from culturally diverse clients but also do my own self exploration about my prejudices and privilege to learn how I can be a part of the healing process.
Approach to Supervision
As a supervisor my role is to guide, listen, create, and consult with associates. I value everyone’s insight in the therapeutic process and strive to provide a place for growth and continued learning. I encourage ethical counseling and ask every associate to examine their beliefs and worldview. I also challenge associates to find enriching activities outside of counseling to support self-care.
Personal Interests
Outside of work I spend time with my daughter exploring this beautiful city! I also enjoy watching movies, reading, and finding time for my own self-care.
