Approach to Therapy and Professional Interests
I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective, while also integrating emotions-focused and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. I believe that each person is the expert of their own life and already possesses the necessary skills to implement meaningful change in their life. I aim to create a warm and accepting atmosphere in which others may discover a greater self-awareness of themselves in order to develop self-direction and independence. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, I believe that individuals may create fulfilling and positive changes in their lives. I have professional interests in counselor-client alliances, Multicultural counseling, self-compassion, self-awareness, and anxiety issues.
Personal Statement on Diversity and Social Justice
I believe that advocating for diversity and social justice is a life long process. I aspire to continue developing a deeper self-awareness of my own personal biases and privileges as well as to expand my multicultural competence. Each person undergoes unique experiences that others can learn from in order to achieve a collective understanding of the impact their stories hold as well as positive growth in the community.
Personal Interests
I enjoy spending my free time at the gym as well as with my family and friends by watching movies, playing board games, and trying out new video games. I also enjoy learning to play new musical instruments such as the trumpet, acoustic guitar, and the ukulele.
