LGBTQ+ Students

Howdy! The staff at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is looking forward to assisting you in meeting your needs as you adjust to life in college. This page serves as a CAPS welcome to the LGBTQ+ student population and as a resource tool that can be used by students who may identify as LGBTQ+ or as allies to the community. Below you will find available resources as well as some definitions related to the LGBTQ+ experience.

We understand if there is some hesitation to use our services or to talk to others about your individual experience as an LGBTQ+ student, but it can be valuable to your university experience in many ways. Meeting with a counselor can help you understand and process challenges you may be facing on campus or in your personal life. Together, you and your counselor can begin to look at a plan for your mental and emotional care.

CAPS is committed to protecting your privacy. None of your information will be distributed to anybody outside of CAPS, with the exception of circumstances listed in our Client Confidentiality Statement.
