Approach to Therapy and Professional Interests
Generally, I take a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy while incorporating other techniques to best help the client reach their goals. My professional interests include multicultural counseling, the therapeutic alliance, and eradicating stigma in therapy within ethnic populations.
Personal Statement on Diversity and Social Justice
Our individual and collective experiences shape who we are and how we view the world thus making diversity an important factor in therapy. As a counselor of color, it is my lifelong journey to commit to being a counselor who exemplifies multicultural competence. Additionally, I must advocate for the rights of my clients from all backgrounds especially those from marginalized groups.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and a spa day. I also enjoy all things "Disney" including my chihuahua mix, Disney!
